She's not as well known, and I guess she got propelled to extra-Spanish fame via the Mango campaign she did with her sister, but Monica Cruz is gorgeous, like a French looking Penelope.  (Because I am of Oriental extraction, I can differentiate between people from the different countries of SE Asia / the Orient, like Korea, Japan, Philippines, Thailand etc. I can't explain my reasoning.  Similarly, one of my English-born friends can differentiate between people from different countries in Europe.  France has a variety of looks their people have, some are pale, some are darker skinned... Monica could pass as French, in my opinion, in the right style of dressing.  She looks like a cross between Penelope Cruz and Emmy Rossum, and that's how I got the French interpretation).


Apparently, she was a double for Penelope whilst filming On Stranger Tides because Penelope was pregnant??  Can't say I noticed, but then.. I often can't see the wood for the trees.
