from here, with love...

I have never done something like this before.. normally I abhor the sort of blog / youtube shaped giveaway which tries to get you to promote their site by holding a contest and encouraging entrants to gain extra entries by tweeting or reblogging or posting in your blog's sidebar etc etc etc.

I have made an exception this time.*  I make it a point of trying to support people from my school, because there is lots of talent and people have reached far-flung places.  To this day, I still haven't a clue how she found me on twitter( I can't remember being close acquaintances but we have/had mutual friends): Jess, a girl from two (?) years below me at school followed me on twitter.  Well, she must be two years below me, as she is in her third year at Oxford.  From what I have gleaned from her twitter / blog, she is hoping to enter fashion, in some way - I really hope she does do so; she is one of those people who has a beautiful sense of style. You read about celebrities who say they mix high street and designer things but I am never quite convinced.  I am convinced Jess can do this, and with panache.

So anyway after following her etc, I have read every single post she has posted for at least six months.  Its name is the one I have used for this blog post: from here, with love...; it mostly concentrates on designers and their newest offerings, and I particularly love the new designers she showcases.

Her blog is now one year old, and she is holding a contest to celebrate this fact.  I'm pleased, because her blog has come such a long way and through her blog, I have discovered several other fashion / style sites.  So thankyou!!!!!

Her contest is open until 2nd February... see her post for details

* The reason I have made an exception to write about a giveaway is because it ties in with my new blog section where I have listed blogs I like to read.  I was thinking about writing about each of them in turn every once in a while.  Jess, you have the honour of being the first.
